From a distance,
You look like my friend,
Even though we are at war.
From a distance,
I just cannot comprehend
What all this fighting is for.
Don't tell me God is watching us! I'll have to clean up my act.
Come join me in hell, Calvin. I'll show you a good time.
From a distance we are instruments
marching in a common band.
Playing songs of hope, playing songs of peace.
They're the songs of every man.
I listened to Michael Ball's version of this song rather obsessively a few years back... love it.
Funny- I just saw a commercial last night about Bette Midler's "From A Distance, the Christmas Version," or something like that.
"We need a little Christmas, right this very minute..."
What, tinsel falls instead of roses?
That's "banned."
lah-dee-dah-dee-dee
The only strawberry blonde I'll waltz with is Sissy Spacek.
Always picking the sissy's aren't you Calvin?

Poor Jaily..he'll just have to blow his own horn now.
he can do that? cool!
Au contraire. I said the only "strawberry blonde." The ending e indicates a female. There are many, many strawberry blonds with whom I'd be thrilled to waltz, however.
jaily can do anything now, didn't ya hear, he's got stainless steel appliances and girlfriend thinks he owns the world. word on the street is he won't return calvin's phonecalls, but you didn't hear that from me.
damn, calvin, i knew that! that was a trick answer you a.p. writing bastard!
"The ending e indicates a female."
You are making that up.
blond = male
blonde = female
BLAWNED = Jessica Simpson
Great. Just another thing to drive me crazy.
Besty..too damn funny !!!
Of course, now I can't get that crappy Midler version of the song out of my head.
CURSE YOU PAL JOEY.
RTfan is watching us...from a distance.
Calvin is, as always, correct. The "-e" is used only in the noun version when referring to a female. "Blond" is used as a noun when referring to a male or as an adjective with any gender.
"Blonde" is NEVER used as an adjective.
Hence:
"The buxom blonde arrived with the handsome blond. Both had blond hair."
