Why is everyone so silent about this? The news is hardly saying a word while the worst nuclear disaster is happening right in front of us.

it's what the media tells them to be concerned about. if this were being covered there would be a huge panic and people would demand that something be done. so obviously, it cannot be covered.

Why the f is the US not stepping up and taking over? It's our lives too. The entire country could be at risk and nothing has been done for 2 years? Why is no one doing anything?

I don't think they know what to do.

They have to convince others that this will be a deadly threat to the world for centuries to come. How do they do that?

They can't even convince politicians that global warming is a threat, and while it's inevitable, there are things we can do to slow the process by centuries or longer if we stop eating our planet alive.

But no, we are the "super race." We are our own worst enemy.

The planet WILL survive. It will belch us off the surface like a bad pocket of gas and move on, just like they have for hundreds of millions of years before us.

Our arrogance and our ignorance will be our demise.

This is terrifying. I had no idea anything was still going wrong with this considering I've heard nothing about it since right after the earthquake.

Nobody wants to talk about it because there aren't any "ratings" in it for TV. There is no visible villain, there is no immediate outcome, good or bad.

It just doesn't make (dollars and) sense to news affiliates.

I'm not sure if I'd rather still be ignorant to this happening or know what's going on. Now that I'm informed I can be cautious about seafood, but there's little else I can do about it besides worry.

And I'm appalled at the fact that their own government hasn't stepped in to help. It's all being done by the private company that owns the power plant. And I'm sure they are doing it as cheaply as possible...
