Anyone going to the George Michael concerts at Madison Square Garden on Monday July 21 or Wednesday July 23?

EugLoven, did you go last night?
My co-worker did and was less than thrilled.
He said the show started 45 minutes late and that George took a 25 minute break. I was excited to read the glowing reviews of the L.A. concerts, and hope he is better on Wednesday night!

I went last night and he was AMAZING! I am going again Wednesday. He sang for well over two hours and the audience just ate him up. I have waited 20 years to see him and it was worth every penny! There are tix still available- GO!
I was there last night, and thought he was excellent-- I would give the show 3.5 out of 4 stars.
He sounded amazing, but really could have done without the intermission, and really missed "Dont Let The Sun Go Down On Me"- (yes, I realize its really a duet, but have heard him sing it solo)
And really wanted to hear "Praying for Time"- Could have done without "Roxanne"-
Still, great seeing him again, and will be there again Weds night !!

Did he sing Monkey and Freedom 90? My friend left at 11:00 to catch a train, so he thinks he may have missed the songs he was most looking forward to.
He didnt do "Monkey"--- so many people were expecting it---
I was a bit surprised that he did "Kissing A Fool", but it sounded great !
Last (3) songs were :
"A Different Corner"
"Careless Whisper"
"Freedom"-
Maybe he will switch it up for Weds--- really wanted to hear
Praying For Time" !!!
I was so thrilled when George sang "Kissing A Fool" in Phoenix. It's a fantastic song!
My sister-in-law was there on the 21st, and she had a great time!! She said he put on a fabulous show, and his voice was in great condition!! She was so pissed off about the review he got in the Daily News!!
Her words exactly....
He really was pretty incredible. I died and went to heaven during "Father Figure"
That song is so-o-o hot. I studied with a modern dance teacher that used that song for one of our performances.

Overall, I had a great time and was glad I went!
I do think there were too many ballads, though, and I'd have preferred some more uptempo stuff. I was dying to hear "Monkey" and, I'll admit it, would have loved to have heard the fun cheesy oldschool Wham! UK stuff...Young Guns, Bad Boys...even Wham Rap!
He could have substituted stuff like that for "Roxanne" and "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," which, though great songs, are performed much better by the original artists.
Was not crazy about the entire set going black between numbers.
His voice was gorgeous. "Father Figure" made me melt. And wasn't "Kissing a Fool" sublime?
I had known beforehand that he started 45 minutes or so late, but that didn't bother me. I do feel that the long intermission made it feel a little disjointed.
Loved the change into the cop uniform!
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED "I'm Your Man!" The performance was energetic and I think the crowd got a huge kick out of the old Wham video (I know I did). The audience's sheer HAPPINESS during that number was palpable! It was '80s Wham bubblegum joy all the way and it was great, great fun. Definitely a highlight of the evening for me.

Yeah, I agree totally about "Roxanne"- His voice sounded amazing, but the song did nothing for me !!!
I really needed to hear "Jesus to a Child" and "Praying for Time" - Would have loved to hear "As" ! (If Mary J. would have come out, I might have died !!)
Agree about the review as well... WAYYYYY too harsh !! The crowd seemed to eat the show up !
