GMA Summer Concert Help

Will possibly be attending a Good Morning America concert in Central Park for the first time. I would like to know if it is similar to the Today Show concerts, where the band performs their full set for sound check and then later performs the songs live. Delta changed our departing flight from Laguardia from 2:30 to 12:15. We are not sure if we will be able to see the entire performance. But will settle for sound check. Also which subway train runs like the 1 and goes from the eastside downtown to uptown. We are staying at the Gershwin, which I believe is more accessible to eastside trains than west. Feel free to correct me, if I am wrong. The entrance to the concerts is off Fifth Avenue I believe. Thanks for the help.

I think the concert is usually over by 9am. At least that was my experience. They do a sound check and then perform the same on air, which is like 1 or 2 songs. Where specifically do you need to be in central park?

The only subway line that runs from downtown to uptown on the east side is the 4/5/6. It runs along Lexington Ave.

Thank you both for your help. I was suprised by all the views that one person prior to you two, could have at least told me which subway runs on the east uptown. Again thank you. I need to be at the 79st (I think ) and 5th Avenue entrance into the park. The Today Show is having The Script...not really a fan. So we decided on Good Morning America. They announced their acts yesterday, but not the specific dates, except GaGa. Since we are pressed for time, I just wanted to hope they do their set for sound check off camera like the Today Show and then perform live at approximztely 8:30. If we were worried about our flight then at least we saw the sound check performance. Again thank you for the info.

Yeah, you definitely need to get on the 4 or 6 train to there. Stops at 77th St.
