I would be really excited except for the fact that I was really dissappointed by the last movie. Hopefully this one will be better.
Try going to the-leaky-cauldron.org, scroll down to May 7 they have a couple of different sizes.

Well I loved the last movie, its closer to the dark world I saw in the books.
But don't worry Ashey there is a new director and from the clips it looks very good!

And wow, Emma Watson is growing up to be gorgeous. She's the best actress of the three kids, too.

They are going to be wearing dress robes- otherwise why would they show Ron wearing his? And the first bit with Hermione looks like her making her entrance to the ball.
Nope it sadly looks like its tuxedo, they might as well not even be wizards...OK, maybe I'm a little over dramatic :)
The travesty that is Harry Potter

BluCat - the travesty you perceive would only be with the movies - the Harry Potter that exists in the books (as intended) is untouched and unscathed.
The movies and books are not and should not be the same, the books are seperate. That the movies take liberties and stray from the books is, to me, a positive occurence. The books exist in your mind. The movies relate what I have determined as a similar but different universe. This is from someone who would have loved to just see the books literally put on film, but I think ultimately it is better this way. Which is one reason I like movie three better than the first two.
I downloaded the interstitials off Mugglenet and during the Yule Ball scene, it looks to me like Harry's outfit is a tux-like outfit with a stylized robe over it. In one shot, you can see that the sleeves are shaped more like the robe sleeves; they're wider and bell out. The Yule Ball costumes aren't as I imagined them, but I like them.

Damn straight. Movies one and two were like glorified books on tape, and lacked any semblence of personality because of it. Cuaron did a lot of slicing in Azkaban, but he came out with something distinctive and still in the spirit of the book. And Hermione kicked about 15 difference kinds of ass, so I'll always have a soft spot for that one. :)
Yeah i still love the books to death, I've just never understand whats the point of making a movie out of them if you're gonna change it. I thought the third was almost nosensical they excluded so much plot. Although apparently people like the changes etc. so who am I
The biggest thing is that the movies would have to be about 20 hours long to actually follow the plots of the books. Lots of people agree with you, so don't feel bad.
I just think they are a neat way to extend the world.
I dunno, I think I'm the only HP fan who didn't like PoA. I thought they cut too much out. Now, I know that things will always have to be cut, but I think they cut some important stuff, like the whole Marauders backstory. I talked to a friend who saw the movie without first reading the book and he was lost for most of it.
And while I liked that the wizarding world felt more magical, there were some choices I just hated. Like having Harry "cry" upon hearing about his parents. But that was mostly because Daniel Radcliffe did such a terrible job of it...someone needs to teach that kid how to properly cry for cameras!!

Radcliffe definitely isn't an impressive actor, but he isn't awful enough to totally derail the movies. And yeah, the scene you mentioned was pretty bad. Couldn't they even get fake tears on him or something?
Now that I agree with totally, that scene was totally played wrong and did not have the spirit of the character at all.
The style of the film really won me over, I have not actually talked to someone who saw it without reading the books, as much as I see them as seperate I think they are "extensions" of the books and it is probably a good idea to read them first. Several of my huge Potter head friends who went with me HATED PoA, there were only two of us who loved it.
Well, he wasn't so bad that he ruined the movie for me. Actually, there was one line that he delivered *exactly* like the Harry I imagined. That earned him some Brownie points to make up for the other wretched scene. His performance in that one scene was just so...so not Harry. I can't remember one time in canon where Harry has cried in front of anyone else, much less his two best friends.
They spent so much time filming umbrellas flying around in the wind they forgot to make the plot make sense, I'm not against artsy filming but i thought the syle was a bit out of place in Harry Potter
That's the big disconect, many people like the friends I went with felt it was way out of place, but that artsy style is exactly how I have always imagined Harry Potter's world to be.
Again I totally agree with you Rose MacShane, Harry would not EVER cry in front of anyone, especially them, he would tell them off for bothering him or something.

Wow...if that's what you consider "artsy," you got way too inured to Chris Columbus. Adding actual personality and creativity to a film rather than making a simple visual transcription of the source material should be what a good adaptation does. Azkaban was hardly an exotic art-house film.
"Again I totally agree with you Rose MacShane, Harry would not EVER cry in front of anyone, especially them, he would tell them off for bothering him or something."
:)
That's more like the Harry I know. He might get there someday, but he's certainly not there yet.
You're not the only HP fan that did not like PoA.
However, I personally thought it was much better made than the previous two. As films, the previous two sucked. The page-to-screen adaptation only serviced fans of the books. I loved how the director focused more on the key elements and themes of the third book, instead of just doing another page-to-screen adaptation.
In any case, the preview looked good. But...I didn't feel excited at all watching it. Just a very numb feeling. Perhaps I'm expecting it to be bad or something. Oh well. I can't wait to see the graveyard scene though!
I'm a little worried about it, actually - there's just so much to cover and I can't see how they're going to do it justice...wish it had been two movies, like Kill Bill
I was so hoping they would have done the two movie idea. I guess that just was not practical though.
