I found this line in the article, interesting -
when it comes down to the bottom I think it's just for sexual pleasure," Wolfe told LiveScience.

We had a cat who... well, he wasn't gay, he mated with females, but... He wanted to be a mommy. He used to steal his sister's kittens and cuddle, clean, and attempt to nurse them. It was really cute.
If I knew how to post pictures I would of my Momo (Mona as he prefers) He was Ginger Rogers two years ago for Halloween, naturally.

Am I the only one who thinks this is absolutely ridiculous? I mean, COME. ON.
It's really interesting that this is finally becoming more highly publicized recently -- the research is certainly not new, and instances of "flexible" sexuality in dogs have been pondered for quite some time. In addition to homosexual intercourse and behavior, you see a lot of characteristic behavior crossover between the sexes in dogs; females who lift their legs, nesting behavior in males, etc.
See? Their's only one truth, and that would be the one they want to believe -- despite the book being based on a TRUE STORY.
Maybe they should file the book in the Evolution section. You know, the OTHER truth they don't want to acknowledge.

Ya know, it would be a lot less painful if they just came and killed us all rather than constantly minimizing our existences, taking away our rights, and "protecting" their children--many of whom will be us one day--from us.
I don't buy the section in the article that claims that many animals engage in sex for pleasure. The only non-human animals explicity PROVEN to engage in sex for pleasure are dolphins; I'm sure it happens elsewhere, especially under the condition that homosexuality is emerging as a commonality within more species than originall thought, but it should be proven before it goes on record. With so much painfully misconstrued in the world of animal behavior, words need be watched, I think.
There are also chimpanzee communities that are known to have sex for pleasure, even for barter - the females will have sex with males in exchange for food. There was a documentary on either National Geographic or Discovery channels about it.
Thanks for the correction -- I mistyped. I meant non-primate, not non-human. :)
