Texas Gov. Rick Perry suggested that gay veterans unhappy with the proposed anti-gay constitutional amendment should move elsewhere.

"I'm going to say Texas has made a decision on marriage and if there's a state with more lenient views than Texas, then maybe that's where they should live," the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Perry said Sunday.

Perry is pompous, obnoxious and nauseating. DC ran a Texas sponsered commercial a month or so ago. His voice and intention of the ad were so irritating that at first I always had to change the channel. The commercial ran the same time every morning during GMA and needless to say I ended up watching the Today show until the commercial stopped airing.

as a veteran this really unfuriates me, as friends have died defending this country so that that piece of crap can spew his filth........really burns me up

I'm ashamed to say that I actually live in Texas -- people like that make those of us who are residents of texas look like assholes. He's just another close-minded idiot, but unfortunatly this idiot has power.

Now, this is one of the reasons I like to admit I'm from Texas as a reminder that not all Texans are closed-minded bigots. And that some of us have the sense to leave. I'm trying to talk my parents into moving away from Texas as well. I think it's working.
