Me too.
I always used to think Genevieve would have made a great Judy Garland in a biopic.

Posted: 6/9/10 at 1:36pmAs I said on Facebook the other day (I did not say FAG), sometimes I like to walk around my house doing impersonations of her, almost always from Anne of the Thousand Days.

Posted: 6/9/10 at 1:38pmRandom observation, but she reminds me a lot of Judy Garland in some photos and movie moments. Tried to upload an example from AoTD but I can't seem to make it work. Well, one example is PRS's avatar.

"The king's whore!"
Really the one I like to do is the one that starts with "My Elizabeth WILL be queen" and ends with "and my blood will be well spent."
I would totally rock the part of Anne Boleyn!

Sorry, nygirl, I missed your post. But doesn't she? The nose A LOT and the eyes quite a bit.

We're back to Anne, right?
That's not Judy talking about Sid Luft in our imaginary biopic?

Marquise, I imagine you're kidding; but I think she IS excellent in EARTHQUAKE.
My favorite film of hers is, OBSESSION.

Genevieve Bujold made a very noteworthy "Saint Joan" in a tv version that pre-dated "Anne..." by a couple of years - maybe 1967. I think it was her US debut and one of her few English language roles up to that point. I remember one critic marveled that English was not her first language.
I was a teenager, and I wish I could remember more about this film.

I liked OBSESSION better when it was called VERTIGO, but Bujold is really good in it. I think that film has John Lithgow's film debut, too.
Second her in DEAD RINGERS, she's terrific, but I always think of her first in KING OF HEARTS.

Sometimes Ashley Judd reminds me of Bujold.

Posted: 6/9/10 at 3:51pmI hate pretty much everything about VERTIGO, except its score, and some of the first 1/2 hour or so. I love everything about, OBSESSION.

Love "Murder by Decree"!
Everyone keeps reusing that plot and acting as if it's brand new.

Reg, I think I missed your post, too. Was too busy trying to figure out how to put pics in a post. Poo.
Yeah--there's a similarity in her nose and eyes, sometimes she way she lifts her brows. The execution scene in AoTD was particularly Garlandy.

Posted: 6/12/10 at 12:06pmBeen in love with her since I was 10 and saw her in Anne of The Thousand Days. A marvelous actress who is always interesting in the select few roles she chooses. A real treat is Isabel, the Paul Almond film that got the attention of Hal Wallis. When she and Burton filmed the Tower Scene, she was to have said "I'm going to give that bitch (ET) an acting lesson she won't forget."

Posted: 6/13/10 at 4:47pmLoved her in the DePalma film Obsession, perhaps his best Hitchcock homage boasting an amazing Herrmann score. Notably, Bujold plays a dual role.

Posted: 6/13/10 at 5:59pmOf course I was kidding. Bujold didn't deliver an Oscar caliber performance in EARTHQUAKE. The only reason to watch EARTHQUAKE is for Victoria Principal hooking up with Marjoe Gortner and Richard Roundtree complete with an afro wig and a super tight t-shirt that showcased her immensely talented boobs.
