Getting On on HBO

If you haven't seen this show yet, now would be a good time to catch up, IMO. Laurie Metcalf,Niecy Nash (who was nominated for an Emmy this year for her role) and Alex Borstein are all terrific in this dramedy. It's coming back for a third and final season, it's usually been on after Girls. LM is so good, playing an obnoxious if misunderstood doctor. The episode "San Francisco" from this past season had me welling up with tears. So wonderfully written. This is the episode that Nash was nominated for I think. I'm so glad Laurie Metcalf is coming back to Broadway

Could not agree more, that this is one of the funniest shows on television. It's a shame we are only getting one more season. I could not be more ecstatic for Niecy Nash's Emmy Nod (I think she totally deserves to win). Within all the hilarity and craziness in the show, when they focus on Didi actually caring for a paitient, it's so moving and somewhat heartbreaking.

i forgot to mention "Nurse Patsy" played by Mel Rodriguez. He's the biggest gayest "heterosexual" and I can just hear his hospital pep talks in my head; the whole show is great, but Laurie Metcalf as a doctor wanting to research the different kinds of feces is comedy gold.
