AOC requires a lot of cast, and the original staging incorporated a multi-level house. The set could be downsized but that cast is quite large. No way those two names, as talented as they are, will be opening a commercial production of that play. They would need a big name for Violet, at least. I say give it to Metcalf. She can do anything. She’s got talent but she was in way over her head in Gypsy. She needed a better director to get her there, and Wolfe was not up to task. Or perhaps Woods was not. Probably both because that production was not it.

I suspect Sally’s book scenes will have her lost at sea, but good for her.
