Ed Harris, Allison Janney & Julia Louis Dreyfuss - OTHER DESERT CITIES Revival?? May 26 2026, 04:49:12 PM
AOC requires a lot of cast, and the original staging incorporated a multi-level house. The set could be downsized but that cast is quite large. No way those two names, as talented as they are, will be opening a commercial production of that play. They would need a big name for Violet, at least. I say give it to Metcalf. She can do anything. Not a name, per se, so Barb would need to be star casting.
In terms of ODC, I say hell yes. I really enjoyed the original production, and thoug

Which performances did RZ have scheduled absences each week? I cannot remember from the London run.

Kristin Chenoweth WE LOVE YOU May 13 2026, 02:54:05 PM
The show was a turkey, and her one trick pony schtick was not enough to save the day this time around.

Saw the most recent episode of Hacks and immediately thought “Cherry Jones would be a fantastic Violet Weston.”

Could Lea Michele be the next Rose in GYPSY on Broadway? Apr 15 2026, 10:03:35 AM
It’s a museum piece at this point. Even after all the chatter re: casting for the last revival, a legendary director and star gave us the most ordinary (arguably pedestrian) production possible. Laurents is gone, this was the chance to try something big that he could not veto. Instead of a big artistic swing, we got Audra crying in every big scene despite her character saying “this time I’m not crying” and Louise’s back-up dancers wearing spray painted unitards f

I wondered how long it would take before someone said the “T” word, which is more applicable to the folks bemoaning Rudin’s continued success. Have a great weekend, though!

Joy Woods as Sally Bowles Apr 10 2026, 03:13:21 PM
She’s got talent but she was in way over her head in Gypsy. She needed a better director to get her there, and Wolfe was not up to task. Or perhaps Woods was not. Probably both because that production was not it.

I suspect Sally’s book scenes will have her lost at sea, but good for her.

CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL Review - 1 Minute Critic Apr 10 2026, 01:50:17 PM
Not a fan of this piece, but after these reviews, I had to get a ticket. Had a similar situation with Sunet BLVD, and that ended up being my favorite show last season. Very excited to see this!

Yeah, not wanting to aid the rehabilitation of an abuser is "holding onto grudges." *rolls eyes*"
Well only one of you produced the best reviewed play of the season. You don’t need to buy a ticket to line that man’s pockets, just as you do not have to read the
