I'll be 19 here in a little over a month and a half. Everyone mark you calendars for April 25! I expect to be showered with well wishes and presents! Haha just kidding actually I like having low key birthdays. This will be the first year I haven't had a performance on my bday in three years. It is going to be strange. I also agree with getting labeled as a "teenager" I think I act more like an adult...well at least I'd like to think so.

i'm technically caught in that limbo between horny teen boy and dirty old man, so while i am emotionally and maturity-wise about 13, i am chronologically far past that.

I am the type of teen who would rather hang out with a group of adults than with teens, work on productions on weekends other than parties...I can be very immature, but find myself to be a extremely mature and motivated kid.

I don't want to brag about my maturity level...but I am investing in stocks, taking politics classes online (future female pres here ), working on shows and dancing in my spare time...I guess I'm not a normal 16 year old. *shrugs*

But I can just say about the maturity that I'm more so than most that I know. But that may not mean everybody.

I wonder if being serious about theatre does it.

Besides me, I know a lot that are VERY serious about theatre (they work outside of hs shows or do both hs and community/regional) are more 'mature' and different like that.

As for me, I'm a 15 year old Broadway lover (well, actually I'll be 15 1/2 in approximately 30 days hehehe) Nobody in my area loves Broadway like I do, not even the adults. My only company is found on this site.....broadwayworld.com attracts my kindred spirits. Hello kindred spirits!!!!!!

I'm 18, what a crap age you are expected to act more grown up but and you get more responsibilities yet you still can't do adult things like drink and gamble, I'm not even a person who's into that kind of stuff but I still don't find it fair!

Anyway I'm a teen who loves Broadway and proud of it! haha!

Haha I only said I'd be 19 in a month. Can't I look forward to my birthday and seeing all my friends who I haven't seen for several months! That is the reason I am looking forward to my birthday. I didn't want to graduate high school when I did either, it was way too much fun, but thats the way the cookie crumbles.

Ya-ya...sure. I think that if you're older than 18...old enough. I'd probably stop looking forward to birthdays when I'm 25. Heh.

(actually, I was more referring to the 13-15 year olds...they tend to do that. IRL, if you ask them for their age, you hardly ever get a straight answer. lol)

Haha my "defensiveness" was supposed to be funny. You know how people get all defensive when you hit near the truth of the matter, but I really do miss my friends from high school. I don't get to see them much.

Well, I can say one thing for sure. If most teens in the world were like the teens in broadwayworld.com, the world would for sure be heading to better and brighter days !!! I am shocked to see many posters' age on this thread. 90% of them i never would have guessed, because their posts are usually so mature, smart, humorous and substanciated ! Well done guys, this proves once again how theater broadens and enlightens one's mind ! I salute you. As for me i'm in my early thirties :)

awww greekmusicalfan - I don't know who that was directed towards, but that was nice of you!
I'm only almost 18, and I'm often shocked at how young some other posters are. From some their posts, I never would've guessed that they're younger than I am. It's refreshing, being stuck in the perpetual immaturity of a high school setting to see that not all people younger than I am are completely devoid of intelligent thought and totally consumed in themselves. It really does show what power theater has to broaden us culturally and intellectually.

It was directed to all of the teens who posted here ! And it was not a simple compliment, I really believe it ! I have seen a few immature comments on the board from time to time, but all were made from adults. The teens in this board are very well behaved and mature !!! I am happy to be in their company ! Now if only crazyforMattMorrison52 would act her age and leave my man alone... LOL
