I am more amazed by the silly American laws listed on that same page

In Nevada it's illegal to ride a camel on the freeway (I'd love to see the original court proceedings on that!)

Colorado
It is illegal to ride a horse while under the influence. (who, the person or the horse?)

Nebraska
If a child burps during church, his parent may be arrested.

Texas
A recently passed anti-crime law requires criminals to give their victims 24 hours notice, either orally or in writing, and to explain the nature of the crime to be committed (only in texas...)

Georgia
Donkeys may not be kept in bathtubs.

and from my own state:alifornia
Animals are banned from mating publicly within 1,500 feet of a tavern, school or place of worship.

And what I don't get is, if crime was against the law before, do they really think that people won't committ crime just because there is a law basically saying "You can rob someone, but with notification"? That solves absolutly nothing.

There's a law in my state against trick-or-treating on Halloween. You'd better believe I do it anyway! (Come to that, there's also laws against sex with lights on. Plus, in one city in my state, there's a law that states all women must wear a corset after sundown. I think I've broken that one a few times...)

It's an old defunct law that no one obeys-- I got a book of ridiculous laws when I was eight or nine, and that was one of them. I'm pretty sure ninety percent of the people I know have never heard of that law!
