OMG I am so relieved that I am safe from catching throat cancer. Thank you Michael Douglas for discovering this!

Gay men can now warn their straight male and lesbian friends of something we've known for years!

Gay men are just as susceptible to oral HVP infection as straight men. Statistics say that almost 85% of the population has HPV so the odds of a sexually active person coming in contact with the virus in their lifetime is almost certain. They have approved the Gardasil vaccine for men and I asked my doctor for it but he said that it is not given to anyone 29 years of age or older who has been sexually active because chances are you probably already have it. Unfortunately, there is no test for men to know for certain and not everyone manifest visible symptoms.

I got that you were going for humor. I was not trying to set you straight on anything. That's just what I wanted to contribute for anyone out there that might not know the facts.

Now is a great time to applaud known MENSA members Rosie O'Donnell and Jenny McCarthy for their brave stances against the HPV vaccine.

I don't think either of them have cancer. Maybe warts.

Yeah - his years of smoking had nothing to do with it at all. I think the cancer has gone to his brain.

Could have sworn the Thread Title said GOING DOWNTON CAUSES CANCER, which frankly wouldn't have surprised me at all.

She was terrible in A Little Night Music but I'm glad to know Catherine Zeta-Jones is getting hers.

So, Michael is just proving he's a straight guy who LOVES cunnilingus. Funny how this happens right as the Liberace film has opened, and has been called the gayest thing since pink ink was invented.

I just don't get that statement.

Poor Petula Clarke. She can never sing that song again.

Yeah - his years of smoking had nothing to do with it at all. I think the cancer has gone to his brain.

surprisingly, it probably didn't. the kinds of throat cancer you get from smoking are usually much more lethal, the surgeries required to remove them much more disfiguring (not always).

Just in time to get Emmy voter publicity. Btw, one of the tabloids has him on the cover inferring he's gay.
