Good Acting/Musical Theatre Colleges????

I know this has been asked before, but I don't remember what was said. So I'll ask again, I find you people on these message boards aka Theatre people, to be incredibly smart...so yay. So anyway, does anyone know of a good Acting or Musical Theatre program in a college, one in which casting directors will be wowed by if I ever got in?

You can probably find the threads by putting "college" in the subject line.

There are many many good colleges/conservatories out there that should be right for YOU in the first place, and casting directors later on. =)
You need to decide what KIND of program, BA, BFA...what kind of CAMPUS...more urban, more rural...location, school size...COST.
And make sure you narrow it down to a good handful! I remember in Chicago at auditions this year people were auditioning at 10+ schools! Now that is very time-consuming and expensive!
However!
This was my list, and if I can gloat myself, I got accepted into each program.
University of Michigan (Gavin Creel, Hunter Foster, Erin Dilly, Barrett Foa...to name a few...oh! and me) =)
Carnegie Mellon University
Boston Conservatory
Cincinatti Conservatory of Music
and some others to look at...
Ithaca
New York University (Tisch)
And countless other schools...just to get the ideas flowing! But do your research and have fun!

Paul, at least you don't get stopped on the street and asked if you're Bob the BAchelor (it's a true curse, people, especially when you think you look NOTHING like him).
Anyway, lots of great schools, yes. I'd only refute Paul on one point, where he lists the Tisch school at NYU. The acting tracks there are great but I'd take the Steinhart School of Education's BFA in musical theatre over Tisch's CAP21 program...and most people in NYC would agree.

Because they make you pay huge sums of money to be taught by what amounts to "Student Teachers".

Scamda is for people who can't get into NYU. They charge you so much money that you're brainwashed into thinking that you are getting a good education.

See, I always thought NYU was the scam. I've heard so many negative things about NYU - I love AMDA, and I'm more happy to be going there.

Sorry, Seany I did not mean to talk smack about your school. I'm sure you'll fit right in and have a grand time. You actually remind me of some of the people I've known who've attended AMDA.

Congrats on your engagement!! You should go to Hawaii for the ceremony. It's beautiful there.
