I'm watching Good Eats on The Food Network and they are talking about meat pies and shepard's pie using a Sweeney Todd theme. Its hilarious. Check it out if you are inclined.
Alton Brown is probably the smartest man in his field.

I had a huge man-crush on Alton Brown until I found out that, rather than being gay (which I thought was pretty obviously true) he's actually born-again and married with a daughter. I mean, I still love him and watch him whenever, but the fantasizing has definitely been curbed.

It's my favorite Food Network show. Love the guy. It's wonderful that each show is dedicated to one food or method of cooking. I feel like an expert after just a half hour of instruction.
Wouldn't he have been a fabulous science teacher? I defy any student not only to learn but to be entertained during the process!
My favorite show on the Food Network. I feel like I learn more during five minutes of his program than I do from a day's worth of other shows.
I saw only the beginning of yesterday's, because I had to leave. With all the Sweeney Todd stuff. It was hilarious. He had Sweeney and Lovett making meat pies for a handful of Londoners. It looked just like "God, That's Good!"
I love that show. It's fantastic.
We watch Alton regularly on Good Eats and love him. He's our Food Hero. But I have to admit I don't always love him on Iron Chef, even though I love that show.

It was great they kept referencing "God, That's Good". There were references to Royal Marine's, green grocers, etc...
Alton knows his Sondheim!
Good Eats is one of my top 5 TV shows of all time. Alton Brown is a genius. And I have the Sweenet Todd episode on my DVR and have watched it quite a few times.
