Good Restaurants in Times Square Open Late

A couple of people I know are visiting NYC, and I'm meeting with them in Times Square around 11:30 tonight. I suspect that we'll all want something to eat by then, but I'm pretty sure that they don't want to travel out of the Times Square area tonight.

Does anyone have any recommendations for restaurants in that area that are open through at least 12:30 AM or so? Not really looking for a bar/club setting, but rather a somewhat quiet place with at least decent food at which we can hang out for a little while. Also, I'd prefer not ending up at the Hard Rock Cafe, Bubba Gump, or something along those lines.

Sofia's Restaurant on W. 46th is open until 2 AM, I believe. Nice atmosophere with good food and decent service. It's not my favorite, but it's the only place I can think of off the top of my head that stays open after 12:30 AM.

The only advice I have is to avoid Applebee's at all costs...

You guys should check out the Renessaince on 9th and (I believe) 52nd. There's a HUGE menu that gives you a ton of food at really great prices. Plus you might just see some Bway stars eating after their shows...

I agree....avoid Applebee's at all costs. It's soooooooooo overpriced. Was there recently with a friend who ordered 2 Maragaritas. When we got the bill we were floored...........the Margs were $14 each. We got the Manager over and told him that the servers should tell people how much the drinks cost. $14 for a Marg is beyond absurd!!! He took off the $28.

The cafe at The Marriott Marquis isn't open that late.....one would think it would be....after theatre crowd. It usually is closed by 10pm...........very odd. The bar is open....but, a very, very limited menu and pricey drinks.

Isn't Pigalle open 24 hrs? It's just a block off Times Square - 8th Ave, around 48th street

Another vote for Pigalle! Also the Westway Diner is open 24 hours on 9th bet. 43rd and 44th.

Thanks for all of the recommendations - unfortunately we ended up in what I believe was called the "Broadway Lounge" of the Marriott Marquis and eating $15 cheese quesadillas. Oh well, live and learn!
