Good mass media/communication schools?

So I'm kinda shopping around for colleges now... I'm a freshman speech communications major, and my current school's department is well... not very good. I really like it here and I have lots of awesome friends, but how am I going to learn anything when I know more about Final Cut Pro than my professors do? And I don't really know that much about it...

So, yeah... does anyone know of any good communication/journalism/mass media schools, particularly in the Midwest?

If you're doing communications, Newhouse at SU is the best. So many people with high-profile jobs with a degree from Newhouse.

Plus LOTS of hotties at SU. re: Good mass media/communication schools?

It's not in the midwest, but the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has an excellent JOMC school.

I think, if I have actually made a decision, that I will be enrolling at Ithaca College's Park School of Communications Fall 2005. Supposedly they have a pretty good rep?

yeah, if you're not too set on it being in the midwest and you don't mid a cold, snowy winter, ithaca's park school is very well known. i would definitely consider it. and you'll get used to the winters.

I was going to post Newhouse as soon as I saw this topic, since I am one of the current hotties at SU. Even though it's not in the Midwest, there's a significant Chicago suburb population in the school, so the distance/travel isn't unbearable.

And Ithaca's winter's have nothing on Syracuse, I'm just saying.
