This was a great way to wake up. My husband and I just got a phone call that his brother's convoy in Iraq was hit by an IED. We are still getting details about how he is, but he is alive so that is good. Any and all good thoughts, prayers, etc... would be greatly appreciated.
Sending thoughts your way.
OMG Kel.....sorry to hear that...he is in my prayers as are you and your hubby. When will this end?
Oh my gosh...so terrible.
You guys are in my prayers.
he's already been in my daily prayers, kel, but i'll say a special one.
Ok my husband just got off the phone with his mother. She is the one who got the call about the incident so she had the most details. His truck hit the IED (basically ghetto style landmine) and flipped over, if he hadn't been wearing his protective gear then it would have probably killed him. He was medivac-ed to the hospital and checked out. He, thankfully, had no major injuries and they released him back to duty. I'm still a little stressed because his mom isn't always the most reliable source of info and will feel better once he gets online and I get to talk to him, but for now we know he is alive and that is all that matters.
Thanks guys for your support.
I am glad to hear the original report is that he is ok! But he will stay in my thoughts and prayers.
Wishing good things for him. It must be agony waiting for information...

Hey guys, thanks for all of your good thoughts, prayers and kind words. He just called us from Iraq and he is fine. He was the gunner on the truck that was hit which means that his upper body was hanging out of the top of the truck and miraculously he walked away with the least injuries. His helmet was pinned between the truck and the ground, but after he unhooked the chin strap they were able to pull him out. He has bruising to his face, arms and some cuts and scraps, but other than that he is fine. The other two guys in the truck are ok too. The driver had his door blown off and scrapnel went into his leg and the passenger was thrown from his seat and hit against the dash and has some internal injuries, but nothing too severe. He is being driven back to his base and will resume work after a few days off. He had no clue that all of us knew what was going on. He was shocked when as soon as I knew it was him on the phone I asked him how he was and what exactly had happened.
Anyways, the important thing is that he is ok and so are his co-passengers.
Yay!
that's wonderful :)
i'm glad everyone was ok
I'm glad that they are all ok, and hopefully all our soldiers will be home safe and SOON!
Great news, Kel!
