I am very concerned about the chipping away of the off-Broadway scene over the years. How much more are we going to lose? The Village Gate, Sullivan Street Playhouse, etc. And now two more great houses.

Let us not forget the (relatively) new theatre row spaces. I performed once at one of the old spaces and the best thing that could be said about it is that you probably programmed Patty Hearst a whole lot quicker in one of their dressing rooms.
But to lose the Fairbanks and the Houseman is truly a shame.

Posted: 12/16/04 at 3:35pmI'm concerned about Dodger's future. The Bare theater is empty, Symphony Fantastique and The Immigrant are closing/closed, there've been layoffs and my recent Dodger theater experience was less than stellar due to disorganization and incompetency.
