"LOS ANGELES (AFP) — The union of US television screenwriters announced Monday it will allow striking members to work on the Grammy Awards, saying it shares the same concerns as musicians regarding new media.
The Writers Guild of America (WGA), which is seeking a greater share of residual profits from Internet and new media sale, reached an interim agreement that will ensure that the music industry's most prestigious awards will go on February 10.
"Professional musicians face many of the same issues that we do concerning fair compensation for the use of their work in new media," WGA West President Patric Verrone said in a statement."
Sure, save the awards show that really bites!
Grammys
Such bogus. They gave the Grammys a pass b/c none of the musicians cared enough about the writers to honor the picket line. And really why should they? They're tenuously connected at best.
I'm all for the writers, but trying to spin this as an act of benevolence is ridiculous.

Yep. And the show will be as awful as always.
But it's the kind of awful that's like watching a car crash.
As if any of the garbage that passes for music, is worthy to win an award.
"You can stand under my Umbrella-ella-ella...Eh...Eh...Eh!"
4 nominations.
I'm watching to see who wins best OBCR, and then the TV goes off for the night.
Oh come on. They are just bad. They aren't train wreck bad like the MTV awards.
