1. Green Day is one of my favorite bands (maybe not the best band ever though) and American Idiot is one of the best albums of this year.
2. This thread would probably be more appropriate for the Off-Topic Board. (In fact, a few days ago, someone started a thread on American Idiot.) Wander over there. You'll get a better response.
3. Did you really sign up on a Broadway message board to post that as your first post???
4. Since you're new here, I'll give you a wee bit of friendly advice - You'll see many mean people on here and many people whose views may not agree with yours. You'll have to get used to it. That's the beauty of a public forum!
ETA: Here's the other thread on American Idiot:

No, I don't agree that they're the best band ever.
I enjoy them, though. I bought one of their pre-Dookie works at a second hand store for 50 cents. It's sweet.
Also, it's pretty ridiculous to expect on an open forum that people shouldn't vocally disagree with each other. Things get boring very quickly otherwise.

Posted: 2/20/05 at 1:35amI would have to agree that they are not the best band ever. I do, however, feel that American Idiot is the second best album of 2004. (Number one is Mission of Burma's "OnOffOn.) It is an absolutely brilliant album musically and lyrically. To think they successfully made "punk rock opera" no longer a contradicion in terms.

Posted: 2/20/05 at 1:45ami'm seeing green day in concert in march- i just got the tix today so i'm very excited. i enjoy all of their work, esp nimrod, although american idiot is by far their best. i wouldn't use the hyperbole "best band ever" but they are very good. and i like guys that wear eyeliner.

I first saw em just as Dookie was about to EXPLODE and I always loved them for carrying on the Kurt Cobain tradition of pissing off rednecks by embracing homoerotica.

#14re: Green Day
Posted: 4/10/05 at 11:57amI'd love to, but it'd end up costing me more than the price of the ticket to take the train and bus to get there from where I'll be living this summer, so I opted not to. I'm still holding out for an added date in NYC for the fall.
