Having you and Cookie watch class was fun Addy.
Cookie, do get the complete Nutcracker.
All of the music is gorgeous.
The Snow Scene, The Battle Scene, heck even the Party Scene = all amazing.
You would have enjoyed my pre-performance talks in Detroit.
I got to share details about our Nutcracker with groups of about one hundred people before each performance. I tend to forget how interesting it all is. This was Oliver Smith's last design project.

Do you do that in Chicago, also, Glebb? Or are the talks only for when you are on tour?
I adored watching the class...

Aye, aye, Mr. Glebby, sir!
All Glebby time is cherished time. :)
Being able to watch Glebby in his element is something priceless. Would have loved to be able to hear the pre-performance talks! And I do intend to catch Joffrey's Nutcracker at some point!

We don't give them in Chicago.
We should.
There is so much that is interesting about this Lincoln era/Victorian America production. I tell them about the staircase that is similar to that which Olivia de Havilland ascends at the end of The Heiress in our Victorian Parlour. I tell them how Kermit Love (costumes for the original Ballet Russes RODEO and designer of Kermit the Frog and Big Bird) designed our mices and Mother Ginger which is an 18 foot tall Victorian doll worked by a muppeteer and that there is an actual Virginia Reel danced in the Party Scene.
I tell them how all of the toys are copied from Victorian engravings that Mr. Joffrey collected all of his life, for he was born on Christmas Eve.

Fascinating! I would love to hear that speech...
Perhaps, some day over tea you could share some of it with me. That would be practically perfect!

Good Morning SOMMS.
It's very cold in Minneapolis.
Luckily that hotel is not too far from the theatre.
I hope you are snug and warm. :)

Posted: 12/8/05 at 8:40amI'm a very lucky man. I walk from my kitchen to my garage, drive to work and then park in a garage only about 50 feet from the office building to a warm pot of coffee.
