I'm out, I'm proud, I'm GRAY!
(except when I'm posting as etoile and then I'm blonde)

grey hair is not cool when you find the occasional strands on your head WHEN YOU'RE TWENTY.

Definitely a badge of honor. And it can also be cool and sexy... Like Louise Pitre's hair. After seeing her, I'm not upset about random gray hairs I find.

I'm with iflit... I'm proud of all my grey hair and every single wrinkle and laugh line (well earned!), but I prefer to wash away the grey.
(gray?)

Posted: 5/6/05 at 10:13amSince I have been highlighting and dyeing since I was like 14 ( I was born a blonde and I intend to stay that way...stupid puberty making my hair darker...) I don't even know what color my hair really is, let alone if there are grays in there.

Posted: 5/6/05 at 10:19amAfter years of being every colour under the sun, I am now proudly Richard Gere silver/white, it suits me and you won't believe how much I'm saving on hair dye. The rest of my body hair has stayed defiantly golden blonde, but everything works if I maintain a tan and go to the gym twelve days a week.

I'm standing in line behind Iflit and Addy at the Clairol counter. Medium ash brown, please.
A full head of silver is stunning, but 50-100 random strands is not.

Posted: 5/6/05 at 10:26amI thought I escaped the gray thing by shaving my head, only to find gray in my goatee - and it's getting worse... but I just can't see buying that stuff you comb through your beard - looks like shoe polish.

Exactly, Bluemoon. When mine is completely silver I will go for it. Until then... highlights, please!
And, when my hair grew back after chemo it was so much darker than it had ever been... then turned blonde again, which is what I was as a child. Shortly after that the silver started.

Not for me. Not with the texture of my hair.

I'm with you girls - I don't mind the wrinkles and laugh lines, but gray hair is not necessary!
And wildcat, thanks for the details, buddy.

Posted: 5/6/05 at 11:24amI have a lot of grey hair, but it's masked in my auburn hair. Very hard to see...I only see it when I look at what the barber has cut off during a haircut.

It's funny how aging affects people differently.
Wildcat your post made me LOL.

I find it attractive and I don't fear it. I look at my mother, who is beginning to grey, say "Do it mama!" Hell if you're attractive, you're attractive. Not necessary wanting the whole head to follow the few I already have but I don't think I'll collapse upon noticing more than the few.

Posted: 5/6/05 at 2:56pmI'm a redhead and I've been wishing for Grey (or silver) hair for a long time - I think it would help me to be taken seriously as an adult performer - I still seem to have a boyish face at the age of 43, so I don't get cast in the role's I think I'm right for. I certainly have more silver in my hair than a few years ago - but it's still predominantly red...geez...

And wildcat, you know, maybe if you weren't my brother...

Red hair is so incredibly sexy.

Posted: 5/6/05 at 3:08pmoh - I'm not unhappy that I have red hair - on the contrary - it makes me stand out in a crowd, thats for sure - but its the age associated with grey that I'm waiting for - so casting directors will take me a bit more seriously for roles I'm right for.

Yeah, that - and the fact that you're like 7'2".
