Posted: 5/26/06 at 1:58pmI am temping at an architectural firm - it was supposed to be a five-day thing, but the boss has just informed me that things are so slow that it's not in fact necessary that I stay for the rest of today or come in next week; therefore I can go. However, he likes me very much and thinks I have a very pleasant personality and will succeed in any business I go into. He also tried to interview me for a full-time job yesterday, so it's NOT ME. But ARGH. I want and need some money, people. Why even ask me to come in the first place???? Grrrrrr

Posted: 5/26/06 at 2:00pmTemping sucks. I did it for about seven or eight months last year. Luckily, for six of those months, I had a long term assignment and was treated like a pseudo-employee. I feel your pain.

Maybe he's a poster on BWW, and he sees what you've been doing all day today missy.
Hmmm???

I feel your pain. I'm in a temp job right now. I was just informed that it's indefinite, but the lady who I'm filling in for comes back soon.
I hate the uncertainty of not knowing when my last day is going to be.

Kitz, I'm trying to jam in as much work as I can this month before I go to London in late June, so I was looking forward to the pocket money. Where are you working?
Is that Josie Lawrence in your av?

Shub, pm me if you're looking for a temp agency. I have worked for 'em all! If you're upfront with the agency that you're looking for something flexible enough to audition (if/when the time calls for that) but basically full-time otherwise, they'll come up with a better gig than a 5 day thing for you.

No, it is me in my AV.
I'm working at a temp agency here in Wichita. Funny thing is, my first assignment has actually been here at the agency. I like it, but I sure would love to have a job where I get health insurance!
