So, not even two weeks after coring her apple and saying she wouldn't act for years, Gwyneth has agreed to star in the film bio MARLENE DIETRICH. I think she's a great choice for this, role and can't wait for it.

I like Gwennie as an actress (in most roles)...but she does sound pretentious as all hell in interviews

Her Motherhood Semi-retirement case in point...as you say....two weeks after her announcement

Gwyneth is just OK to me, but she's definitely no Blythe Danner...thats where all the talent in that family went.

I loathe Gwenyth Paltrow. She reminds me of those judgmental bitches in high school who got straight A's and were totally above everyone.

And then I see her act and it's all too clear that she is Blythe Danner's child. She was remarkably good in "Sylvia"...so funny in "The Anniversary Party"...ah, well.

My question is: Is Dietrich's life that interesting a subject for a film?
Did anyone see the doc "Marlene" that came out in the late eighties?

All I can say about her is that I despised her in The Talented Mr. Ripley...all that fake sobbing and whining - it was not a very becomming performance. Though I have liked her in other things.

For me, Marlene will always be one of those actresses whose body of work speaks to her life and character more than a bio-flick.
