I have not posted or even read here at the BWW boards in years (approximately eight), but had to somehow see what people were saying after this one. The play is a disgrace to all involved, to the entire state of the American theater. It is the stuff of legends. May this be the worst production of a play in the American theater, I beg. I beg. Do not see this play. Or, see this play and witness history. I did not think witnessing such a thing was possible.

Sutton Foster was not in A Catered Affair before Young Frankenstein.
And Justafan, I know I know I know. I saw it twice and I won't be able to see it again, but I feel rather close to the Hurleys.

Justafan, I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it.
It is kind of a shame that it played the Walter Kerr; it just didn't fit. Off-Broadway would have been beautiful. Or had, say, XANADU not existed and it had played the Helen Hayes, things would be different.
I so look forward to the many regional/community theatre productions this tender musical will receive in coming years.
