A wildfire is blazing at Brookhaven Lab in Upton and the wind and dry conditions are causing it to spread rapidly. Friends and family have had to evacuate and are sleeping on gym floors. One hundred and five fire departments are on the scene trying to control the inferno.

Do you live out there? Is it mostly Suffolk County? I didn't see anything on the local TV news earlier, but just found this on the internet...

Yes, I live in Suffolk County. Friends in Manorville have lost their power and want to come here to spend the night. I'd gladly put them up but there are so many roadblocks that they decided to stay in their home.

It seems that the fire has been contained with only a minimal amount of damage. I believe only 2 homes were lost and one professional building. Parts of the area still have no power.
Cousins who live in the area say it smells like one huge campfire is blazing in their yard.

I'm not from the area- are they really only 4 homes on Long island? For some reason I thought it was larger than Rhode Island and homes to millions of people.

Funny!

Those four homes were the only ones featured in the New 12 video. (News 12 has significantly deteriorated since the Dolans took ownership)
