Uganda. 85% Christian. Made homosexuality a capital crime in 2013.

Converted the penalty to life-in-prison-without-parole under international pressure. They also criminalized gay sex by Ugandans abroad and any actions by individuals or organizations that supported gay rights.

The above laws were ruled unconstitutional by their Supreme Court just six weeks ago. We'll see what happens next...

Their most draconian laws were written for them by Christian missionaries from the U.S.

So, apparently, we're not just targeting ISIS in Syria, we're also targeting an Al Qaeda cell called the "Khorasan," which aims to use Western volunteers with Western passports to plant bombs on airplanes and in high-profile Western targets.

Khorasan was started by a young protege of Osama Bin Ladin, and they keep a low profile.

Mikey, do you have a reading comprehension problem? I outlined the history of that law in much greater detail in my post.

The point is that CHRISTIANS in Uganda DID pass such a law just 2 years ago and amended it only under the threat of international sanctions. Christianity is no guarantee against barbaric behavior.

fine. you and the op are correct; the media does gloss over the connection between isis and islam. the problem is your observation is belated and too narrow. the media has ALWAYS deferred to people of faith, and has always made efforts to not "offend" the religious. the way the media avoids talking about isis and islam is no different than when the media said it was the croats bombarding sarajevo when they should have been saying christian orthodox were bombing muslims round the clock, and in the same way the media politely refuses to talk about how russian orthodoxy is backing everyone's favorite dictator, putin, and that is the source of the ghastly policy against homosexuals in russia.
