And here's the silly "Happy Easter" song from the beginning of my movie, which always gets stuck in my head so that when anyone says "Happy Easter" to me, I invariably answer in the cadence of the song, "Happy Easter...TO YOU!"
Never saw you look quite so pretty before.
Never saw you dress quite so handsome. What's more,
I can hardly wait
To keep our date
This lovely Easter morning.
And my heart beat fast
As I came through the door,
For...
HAPPY EASTER, BROADWAYWORLD!
Here's a new link for Fred's "Happy Easter" number, followed by Judy and Fred's final scene and the "Easter Parade" song:

And here's his magnificent "Drum Crazy" number

And, for the Ann Miller lovers, "Shakin' the Blues Away"

Easter Parade will be on TCM at 6:00 EST
Imagine Gene Kelly instead of Astaire.
Kelly was slated to star but broke his foot and the rest is history.
^
Thanks Wynbish, I always forget when they're airing musicals on TCM, and always end up watching them when they're almost over.

If they're so great, why don't they rise up from the dead and tell us Happy Easter, themselves. If Jesus can do it, so can Judy.
Well, Judy had a few more chemicals in her system than Jeebus did.
At my church, we sing "Judy Garland is risen today, a-a-a-a-le-ey-lu-oo-jah get happy...."
This is sublime...wonderful....so glad you posted this. I want to just kiss the photo and create little paperdolls out of Fred and Judy..and make them dance and sing at my lesiure.
Happy Easter from Miss Margaux
to her new friend Rosie.
I enjoy this thread every year.
Happy Easter!
If this isn't the cutest thread on the whole damn site, I don't know what is!
Never saw you look quite so pretty before!
Happy Easter to you!
Happy Easter! Always love your posts in this thread, PalJoey!
The photographers will snap us.
And you'll find that you're
In the rotogravure.
Last June I was thrilled to see Easter Parade as part of Last Remaining Seats at the Los Angeles Theatre, a real movie palace. Ann Miller got tremendous applause (well-deserved) after Shaking the Blues Away.
It wouldn't be Easter without Judy and Fred.
And it wouldn't be Passoverw out PJ's Aunt's brisket secret. Many thanks, still working it!
Thanks for all the Easter Parade memories!
