Happy Festivus!!! Come air your grievances!!!

It's that time - time to gather 'round the Festivus Pole and air your grievances with each other! Who cares to start?

re: Happy Festivus!!!

I'll jump in here.

I'm currently having a problem with EadieWasaLady.

It has appeared to a few people that this is someone who has posted here before - the knowledge and awarenesses give that impression - and yet, we really don't know who it is. They have just shown up and started hurling insults, without us having a clue as to the perspective from which it comes.

This kind of anonymous 'reborn' posting existence is only due to one of two things. Either they're stupid, lazy and lack the courage of their convictions to stand within the persona that they have created already, or they have been deemed too 'outside the parameters' by the board admistration, and barred from posting under their previous screenname.

There are a few instances of people developing a new board identity (Brendan, BSo and myself come to mind) but we all have carried forward the identity that we are associated with.

This person is insulting to anyone who at least tries to take this board seriously and treat the other posters with at least some modicum of respect.

re: Happy Festivus!!!

What, you people are too good to celebrate Festivus? That's my grievance with you people.

EDIT: And thank you, DG, for your participation.

re: Happy Festivus!!!

I think the problem is that we are all to happy and willing to air our grievances with each other.

DG - I have no idea who Edie is, but he/she/it is, but my feelings about this person are pretty much the same as yours.

OK - Here's one - I wish Elphaba would stop having so many Avatars - I am a person who recognizes things via shapes and colors, and now I actually have to look at the username! Drat actually having to read the name of the poster!

I know, it is not much, but since Art2 left, or at least stop posting, it is about all I got.

I'm sick of everybody I sleep with having the jimmy legs.

re: Happy Festivus!!!

I really feel unworldy now. What are "jimmy legs"? (And do I REALLY want to know?)

As far as Festivus complaints, I'm sick of:

Sitcoms featuring middle-aged men whom we're supposed to find adorable because they act like they're still in high school. ("The King of Queens", "Yes, Dear", "Still Standing", "Two and a Half Men", reruns of "Everybody Loves Raymond", and on, and on. Usually these same men are beefy and/or balding and/or otherwise unattractive, yet they somehow managed to bag gorgeous wives/girlfriends.)

"Brokeback Mountain" backlash (from the left and right wing)

Milk-moustache ads. (Is there ANYONE who refuses to pose for those disgusting, undignified things?!)

Lever 2000 soap commercials, "for your 2000 parts." These generally feature a seminaked couple rolling their naked baby across the floor and poking at it with Q-tips while a sickening-voiced narrator goes on about our "2000 parts" that need washing. One magazine ad features said baby SUCKING ON AN ADULT'S TOES! Doesn't that violate some health code or something?

re: Happy Festivus!!!

You'd have to be a loyal Seinfeld viewer to get the "jimmy legs" reference, but it is defined as:

a spasming of ones legs or other body appendages in bed which occur beyond a person's control. Kramer once has a girlfriend with Jimmy Legs which drives him crazy.

re: Happy Festivus!!!

Melissa is absolutely correct. Estelle had the jimmy arms.

re: Happy Festivus!!!

I agree with DG. And I'll add another motivation for such posters: they are sociopaths who can't stay away from the board/people they claim to hate/be indifferent to.

re: Happy Festivus!!!

jasonf agrees with DG.

jasonf's grievance is he has nothing fun to do this weekend since family's all away and friends are with their family.

jasonf's other grievance is people think that they're too good to watch TV as in "I have better things to do with my time." Get over yourself and watch some Seinfeld.
