Posted: 11/15/05 at 8:38pmMan, I'm going to miss student discounts when I get back to the States. Movie tickets are just about the only things that have ended up being cheaper in London. Especially on Wedensday matinees. Oh, matinees. How I love thee.

Posted: 11/15/05 at 8:42pmI'll deal with fangirls, hopefully they will faint when Daniel appears the first time, then I can watch the movie in peace.

Really, Plum?
I can still get student tickets for $5.50/$6.
Of course, I think my midnight ticket was full price...my roomie bought it for me and I haven't paid her yet!

To Type a Tiff
Squat down when you go to buy a ticket & dress like a kid. Whatever works

HAHA! Oh, the sad thing is, Mr. Roxy, I don't even have to squat. I'm about the height of a pubescent teenage girl already, and seem to get carded any time I'm going any "adult" activity. I've just got to contend with my "wise eyes".

Yeah, our theater gives out student discounts...but not at matinees, the b*tches. It's hardly a discount anyway.
"You mean I get to pay $8 instead of $9? Gee, thanks, Mr. Man!"

Tiff,
go for some pigtails... It will distract them from the eyes!

Posted: 11/15/05 at 8:49pmI should have that problem . The only way I would be carded would be if I was asked for my AARP card

I believe it's 13 or 14. Either way, I'm way past that road.
The funny thing is I was never carded when I was a minor trying to buy alcohol, but once I was legal, I always had to carry my driver's license with me!
Mr. Roxy, y'oughta be flattered! I had the miserable job once of giving senior citizens a 20% discount at the pharmacy I worked at, and we were expected to ASK them if they qualified for the discount. If you knew how many people responded with, "Senior's discount? I'm 47."

I am going to see it on Thursday night @ midnight, and I don't think I have been this excited to see a movie in a long, long time. GOF is one of my favorite books, especially since now the tone is getting darker and more serious. To further propel my nerdiness, I would go out on a limb and say that GOF is the Empire Strikes Back of Harry Potter--leaving the audience with a sense of loss and wonderment as to what the future holds for their beloved characters. EXCITEMENT!
(is wonderment a word?)

"To people who have seen the movie, is the Dark Mark bit effectively creepy? (I hope they keep the campground owner's family dangling in the air - just reading it squicked me out nicely.) And Jason Isaacs! How much screen time does he get?"
The Dark Mark is indeed freaky, much more gruesome than I ever imagined it, the downer is you see Barty Crouch Jr. create it. The Robinson's do not do their amazing acrobatic tricks, basically you have some drunk deatheaters (that quite ramarkably resemble the KKK) who light some tents on fire, terrorize the people (but no grotesque acrobatics in the sky, again), and then run away. Jason Isaacs has little screentime. You have him in the graveyard scene of course, and in the delightful scene at the QWC where Harry and Draco exchange nasty comments in the stands.
