Has Dick Cheney Jumped the Shark?

Seriously. Many of us have hated him for a long time, but is there any reason for any Republican to support him anymore?
Wouldn't the nation (and Bush) be best served by a very public impeachment and Senate trial that ended in conviction?
The war could be ended, all the profiteering blamed on his Halliburton connections, and everything that went wrong over 7 years could neatly be blamed on his undue influence.
Karl Rove would escape punishment, and Bush would no longer be the Worst President Ever--he could even appear to history as a "good" president led wrong by an overweening political opportunist.
And we would get his head on a platter.
But seriously, shouldn't be NOT be vice president anymore?

It seems that the Washington Post and NBC "news" have kicked off the story of the week.
Preposterous.
Liberals Take Their Marching Orders from the Washington Post

I think the Post's series is very even-handed, and I'm not your classic liberal. Friends of mine in the administration (yes, I have some - sue me) say that it's a pretty accurate description.

While some of the information may be accurate, the post is using their series of hit pieces to try to bring Cheney down. the information is presented in a warped manner.
Dick Cheney is likely the greatest Vice-President in the last 100 years.

"Dick Cheney is likely the greatest Vice-President in the last 100 years."
Sure if you consider lieing, torture, going around the constitution, believing yourself and the worthless president you serve under are above the law admirable qualities.
Dick Cheney is likely the most powerful, immoral, and disgusting Vice President in the history of this country.

You forget that people hated Ronald Reagan too.
It is a sad commentary on the worthless media types at the Washington Post and MSNBC that they "investigate" and "report" all of this "news" on Dick Cheney as if it were new. The "news" is ALL old, and the only thing "new" is their desire to get Cheney out of office overwhelms their news coverage and discredits them in every manner.
Why don't they talk about how Hillary and Obama disagree with Michael Moore's latest treatise, or how Obama just slammed Hillary?

You don't even make sense anymore HD-- what does any of this have to do with the price of tea in Chaina???
"You forget that people hated Ronald Reagan too."
Ah yes, they did-- but not nearly enough, not nearly enough.

You can't have it both ways HDT
You put such words as "investigate", "news" and "report" to discredit news outlets which, quite frankly, you just disagree with. But in the same post, you state the the "news" is all old stuff.
Regardless of when the news was last or most recently reported doesn't make it any less valid. So you see, by your own logic, these news agencies ARE accurate.
And regarding their coverage of other events - I pose this little analogy which fits into many hypocritical scenarios.
If you are travelling down a road in your car and going above the speed limit - and everyone else around you is doing the same but YOU get pulled over... you are still breaking the law. To argue that everyone else is doing it is irrelevant. You were the one stopped.
How is this relevant to your scenario?
The news agencies you mention choose stories and priorities based on many factors - and on a second by second basis. Asking why they aren't reporting on one thing or another is irrelevant to THIS discussion. They "pulled over" the Dick Cheney story..

One simple response speaks to the entirety of that attempt at wisdom: Yes, Vice-President Cheney works at his job, and works at the pleasure of President Bush. WOW! That's new to you people.
Oh No! Dick Cheney is a Working Vice-President
