Has anyone advertised on Facebook?

Someone suggested I advertise my dog walking/pet sitting business and was wondering if anyone had experience with this. Thanks

I would think for a business that is going to be VERY local, that FB wouldn't be the best bang for your buck. (But I don't actually have any experience with that.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

And Facebook personalizes their ads based on the clicking preferences of the users, so it wouldn't be blanket coverage, anyway.

Maybe you could start a page for your business? That at least is free. If it doesn't work, there was no harm trying.

I dissent.

I have used fb advertising for small theatre productions, and we have had excellent response. Yes, start with a page and get your friends to "like" it, but fb ads are good because you can target very specific and localized markets, and don't have to spend a fortune.
