Someone sent me the link. It's pretty short (20 mins or so), and actually very well done. It takes a bit of a steampunk approach to Tin Man, which I think works well.

That was made a lot better than most Oscar winners!

Too bad the acting wasn't so great, but everything else was gorgeous. I really love the tin man costume.

They could totally make a full length film out of this.

Bravo!

That was beautifully done. The production values are first-rate, and it managed to be faithful to Baum's original backstory.

The leads aren't brilliant, but I didn't think they were bad either. The filmmakers fleshed it out (no pun intended) and made it compelling and touching.

Bravo, indeed!

Wow! Really wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing that.

Faithful to Baum, as Besty pointed out, and isn't it amazing how that one thread of the story could manage to seem complete in its own way?

It really is. I really like the steampunk approach, especially as I think about it more. My only fear would be allowing it to too heavily influence the design in a more full version.

I've always thought the Tin Man was the most tragic of all the characters, because he knew what he had lost. Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion just knew they were "missing" them and not what it was truly like to have them.

That's one thing I always thought the film version of The Wiz handled well, they learned that they did have them all along, and didn't need an tchotchkes (sp?).
