I saw the matinee yesterday, for what will undoubtedly be my first time. The 2018 revival was my introduction to this show. I absolutely fell in love with it and saw it four times (Bette, Bernadette, Betty, Carolee). Yes, Ogunquit Playhouse is more limited in what they can do scenically, but OH MY GOD THIS CAST. Absolutely thrilled with this news. I only live about half an hour away from Ogunquit, so I was already planning to see this early in the run in case I wanted to see it a second time. Now it looks like it might be a second, third, fifth, tenth, twelfth....

If you think of it as a little Off-Broadway show shooting its shot in one of the largest houses is Broadway it sounds bananapants, but if you think of it as the first stop on a planned North American tour that will allow them to advertise as "direct from Broadway" it makes a little more sense.

Is there anything about this production that I would miss from the $69 rear balcony seats? I'm eyeing a spur-of the-moment trip to see this but I'd need to do it on the cheap.

I just picked up a couple of the $25 seats - A 4&5 - for next Sunday's matinee, and they're listed as partial view. There are seats in front of that selling for full price. I've sat just about everywhere a person can sit in the Loeb Drama Center (including the stage and literally the floor) and never had a bad seat, so I'm curious what makes these partial view. I'd love to hear from anyone who's seen the show or is otherwise familiar with this production.

Personally, I'm hoping for a trauma-informed production directed by either Daniel Fish or Ivo van Hove.

I've recently moved to the Greater(ish) Boston area for work. I've enjoyed being able to get into Boston to see some tours and pre-Broadway tryouts, but I'd love to branch out and make day trips to NYC for shows as well.I know from the posts here that quite a few of you travel from New York to Boston for matinees, and I would assume there is also a fair amount of people traveling from Boston to NYC for the same purposes.
