Hello Young Lovers: Up-tempo or ballad?

I was wondering if Hello Young Lovers from The King and I is an up-tempo or ballad. It sounds like a ballad to me, but some places I've seen it considered to be an up-tempo. I'm considering it for college auditions, so I was just curious. Thanks!

It's sung as a ballad in the show, but it has been performed as an up tempo song as well. The Temptations used to perform a really nice, swinging version of it.
