I am a female that is playing a male in a local prduction of Aladdin.
I have never played a male before, and I am looking for tips or advice on how to act more masculine.
Thanks.

Are you playing a specific character or are you an ensemble member/chorus?
Anywho, the best advice is to think confident + strong and also keep your chest out and lead with it when you walk. Never ever slouch or seem passive in any sense, not to say men aren't at times or that women are, but it will be a bit more convincing. Also, always keep your feet and wide stance which will make you seem more active and ready to move. This may just be me, but I used it when I played Sid in Pajama Game who is easily one of the more masculine characters on the musical theatre stage.
keep hips square when walking, dont sashay, as most woman do, its hard to notice it at first, but study yourself when you walk versus how men walk
If you clench your teeth it squares out your jaw
If you deepen your voice, don't push your lips out. Try to create resonance in the back of your mouth. If it still doesn't sound realistic, don't do it!

hold your arms out slightly, and keep your elbows marginally bent, instead of them just hanging.
