On July 6th-8th I'll going to NYC (seeing Mary Poppins, Tarzan and Legally Blonde). I need to know something. I'm planning on getting a window card from each of the shows, "stage-dooring" and getting them signed from their respectful shows. Now, when I fly back to Pittsburgh, will I be allowed to carry them on as my "Personal Item". We're putting everything else we get in NY and all of our clothing, bathroom stuff, etc. in our carry-ons (so we won't have to go through luggage stuff). Are the window cards to big to count as a "personal item"?
Respective shows.
And no, that shouldn't be a problem. I've flown with windowcards before. You can take them on in the bag with cardboard, but I've found it much easier -- if your carry-on is big enough and has a flat back -- to just lay them along the bottom.
Oops! I was just getting a little type-crazy and said "respectful" instead of "respective". Thanks for the correction
How big was you carry-on?
Be careful how you pack your toiletries. There are restrictions for liquids and pastes and balms when packed in carry on luggage.

Oh, thanks for that tip! Are disposable razors allowed in carry-ons?

I can't get to it right now and I don't know the dimensions offhand, but it was a pretty standard-sized roll-on-wheels suitcase. The windowcard just fit, so I let it lay along the bottom and put my clothes, etc. on top.
