I actually do like this choice. Hopefully his American accent is good. Way better than the other choices (never thought Goode was meant for the role and Joe Manganiello was a little too Superman and not enough Clark Kent).
I know there will be some controversy having a Brit play Superman but I do not remember the panic of Bale cast as Batman or Garfield as Spiderman having to do much with country of origin. Plus, Nolan gets plenty of people across the pond to play Americans, so it is not really surprising this did happen.

i enjoyed him on the Tudors and in the Count of Monte Cristo... so i'm excited to see his take on it... apparently he was also one of the contenders for Edward in Twilight!
