Yankee Aaron Judge broke the season record for most home runs for a rookie in a season yesterday by hitting his 49th and 50th home runs. Yankee Stadium now has a section of seats in RF called the "Judge's Chambers". Every time he hits a home run, some fans post "Here Comes The Judge" on their FB page - lol.

Hi YF7. As another die hard Yankee fan, all I know is when you're at home half watching the game, you suddenly start paying closer attention when he comes up. He's having an unforgettable year. only Guidry in 1978 and Mattingly in 1985 compare to it in my memory. Hard to imagine him not winning MVP.

I am showing my age but they only guy that I have ever seen that was as much fun to watch as Judge when they came up was Mickey Mantle.

Well, I must be about your age. I remember Mantle at the tail end of his career (67-6
. He could barely run, could only play first base, but he was still a presence at the plate. The only other hitter I can think of who was "must see" watchable was Reggie.

I'm in my mid fifties what I remember about Mantle was pathetic. Giancarlo Stanton is getting much less attention because he's down here. It would be nice if both of them were unjuiced. Big guys, that strike zone on Judge is huge. The thing is pop ups are home runs if he gets a big cut in. That he goes to opposite fields is big.

yankeefan, you must admit tonight was unexpected. Aaron Judge just struck out more times in a 5 game series than Joe DiMaggio in a whole season.

Yes, it was horrible series for him but to be fair he got screwed by the umpires 4-5 times on called strike three pitchesthat were shown to be out of the strike zone on TV. Judge is very streaky player and as a fan we need to live with the ups and downs. He did ok last night against Keuchel who is very tough pitcher by going 1-3 with a walk. As for DiMaggio, it is not fair to compare any rookie to one of the greatest hitters of all time.

Bummer that they lost in 7 and could only score one run (Judge HR) in two games at Houston - oh well, wait until next year !!

Cubs failed in all aspects in the NLCS. Terrible series.
