Here We Go Again

There has been a shooting, with mass casualties, at a Munich shopping mall. Details are sketchy at this time. I had heard on the news a few days ago that after Nice, there was chatter that the next target was Germany. Looks like they were right . Witnesses report 3 gunmen and authorities said there have been multiple deaths

I suggest we wait until there is more information before placing blame.

My money is on Radical Scientologists, or Radical Buddhists...

If people accept it, it will continue. Maybe if those who accept it as the new norm have it happen to them than things may change. Munich police suspect terrorism. There they go - jumping to conclusions.

What are we civilians to do to thwart global terrorists Roxy? I'm being sincere. I could see a smoking Boeing 757 lodged into the Pentagon still in flames on 9/11/2001 from my office window as clearly as I can see my hands. That was before I was forced to evacuate the building and walk 5 miles before being able to catch a bus that wasn't stuffed to the gills and caught in a logjam. DC can barely manage snow removal let alone an evacuation of the areas surrounding the White House. Worse still, one of the terrorists who commandeered that flight and I both studied engineering at the same university at the same time. I'm almost certain our paths crossed back then because the engineering dept was very insular.

So, once again, what exactly is in the hands of civilians to combat global terrorism?

Your timing is uncanny, Roxy. I teleworked today but received a notice that the building I work in was evacuated and closed for the day due to a power outage that affected a number of building near the National Mall.

This was a coincidence. We are silently stocking up on certain things just in case. It is not paranoia but simple common sense.

An easy start is to take off handcuffs on the NSA and NYPD and other people trying to protect us and maybe not send terrorist free that we already caught.

No. Only sky marshals should be armed. Anyone trying to take one on should be arrested immediately.

Roxy it is not a bias, it is waiting until the facts come in before running around crying "The Sky IS Falling". By instantly blaming and marginalizing a group of people you aren't doing anything to fight them instead you are helping young kids who are on the edge make up their minds. Radical Islam WANTS to be feared, WANTS to be on everyone's lips. By jumping the gun and giving them credit for newsworthy attacks you are actually aiding their cause.
