SCHOOL GIRLS headed to Broadway

And for those wondering, all precedent says it will be considered a REVIVAL.

I truly can’t believe the MCC production was 9 years ago now. It feels so much more recent.

But yes- definitely will be considered a revival, especially as this seems to be an entirely new production.

His next project should probably be to take a breather for a bit.

Timothy Chalamet Criticism

While I'm sure Jordan and his team had a good chuckle over Chalamet's gaffe, there was already a turning tide against Chalamet, who was never a sure bet in the first place.

Dolly! The Musical coming to Broadway 2026?
 Mar 15 2026, 07:56:25 PM

I think the only time the three actors conceit worked was Fun Home, since it chose three exceptionally different portions of Bechdel's life and effectively treated them as separate characters with unique arcs. Otherwise, it's just been: here's the kid, then the young adult, then the adult, as a single chronological continuum.

I’m not surprised that it closed at a huge loss to be honest. We often spent many months scratching our heads at how they were still running even when they were underperforming at least six figures a week. Even more were the attempts at Star casting that likely cost a fortune, but probably only boosted the box office just enough to cover the additional expense."

HK has an interesting gross history - it does very well in its first year, then comes down a lot after its first holiday season, then goes into an erratic pattern. It never seemed to be able to sustain one stable average gross for very long. I think behind-the-scenes expenses turned it into a total money pit that made recoupment all but impossible.

Lead Actor in a Play 2026

It is wild to me that Lithgow is 80. I mean, intellectually, yes, I know that's true, but it just doesn't feel true.

Timothy Chalamet Criticism

Oscar voting had a few days left when this blew up but the SAG awards had already happened so it had no bearing on it.

I frankly don't think Chalamet was ever the shoo-in for Best Actor and this likely just crystalized feelings about him that had been brewing for some time. He was the presumptive favorite for a bit but I really never got the sense his performance was ever really fully embraced and undeniable to overcome his increasingly entitled-to-the-win behavior. He may stil

Storrie would genuinely be great but the added security they would need...

Genuinely, maybe I agree with you about questioning the reasons why I am here. Like maybe clearly you're just 'not my people'. If I can't expect that a discussion board can handle a conversation about the mortality of our greats, what am I doing? It's madness.

This place has declined so much in 20 years. Or maybe I have. But I can barely stand you anymore, clearly. And I don

We've been going through this with you a few times a year for years now. You come on here with melodramatic handwringing about Bernadette Peters while on other threads going off on tangents the theme of which is always "everybody is irrational but me," coupled with a compulsive

GIANT Previews
 Mar 15 2026, 09:04:45 AM

I’ve not yet seen the play but Dahl did explicitly say he was anti-Israel because of its violent actions in Lebanon in 1982. And he said it repeatedly. And he did use it as a starting off point for further genuinely anti-Semitic comments. Multiple things can be true here at once.

They will all have lived long lives of unbelievable accomplishment and left behind an incredible legacy that will still be able to be enjoyed for generations to come, which is far more than can be said for the vast majority of people who have ever died in the history of humanity.

Poor guy, it sucks being sidelined from doing what he loves for so long. But as long as he can make a full recovery, it's worth it.

DEATH BECOMES HER Reviews
 Mar 14 2026, 11:12:47 AM

I caught this last night and while the production as a whole is in great shape, I think Betsy is just not well-suited to Madeline Ashton. She lacks the delusional diva grandiosity and sharp comedic instincts of Hilty, giving a performance that is far more dry and pushed. There's just sort of an inherent sweetness to Wolfe that doesn't work here, playing a woman who is plainly just the worst. She tries her best to find her way into Ashton's awfulness and make it funny but it just d
