Folks... don't try this at home.

(CNN) -- Fannie Mae said it will set aside the loan of a woman who shot herself as sheriff's deputies tried to evict her from her foreclosed home.

Fannie Mae foreclosed on the Akron, Ohio, home of Addie Polk, 90, after acquiring the mortgage in 2007.

Addie Polk, 90, of Akron, Ohio, became a symbol of the nation's home mortgage crisis when she was hospitalized after shooting herself at least twice in the upper body Wednesday afternoon.

On Friday, Fannie Mae spokesman Brian Faith said the mortgage association had decided to halt action against Polk and sign the property "outright" to her.

So, I'll need to shoot myself in order to keep my home?

God, I love this country! re: Here's a way to keep your house, apparently.

>It's time to resurrect civil disobedience.

That's what this country was founded on. People are too complacent nowadays. Eventually though, we're in for another French Revolution-like situation.

Okay, this man was seriously evil, and that has nothing to do with any housing crisis. To take out your whole family in such a horrifying way, and try to say he was a "victim" of the current economic climate? Disgusting. I'm not buying it for one second. That man committed mass murder in such a completely despicable, calculated, cold-hearted way. There is no one, or nothing to blame, except himself.

I'm trying to picture the logic (if you can call it that) of someone who says, "I can't afford the lifestyle I have now. My family and I can't live here anymore, and I have no money in the bank. Let's see, I could go bag groceries at the local grocery store so we could at least EAT, or... I could just end everybody's life now. Yeah! That's the answer. I'll just destroy all these people I supposedly love and say that the gubment made me do it!"

Evil and deranged. This isn't a victim who had his "entitlement" taken away. This is a cold-blooded murderer.
