Just got back from the 8:30 showing, and I had a great time. It was very well-done. All joking aside, Hilton did not call attention to herself, and ended up proving that she does, in fact, have great screen presence. There are some scenes that you will not forget for a while. If you like good horror, go see it.
i saw it last night and its ok. creepy plot but not nearly as good as the original. some interesting irony and symbolism that i liked. but i did not like paris's acting. there wasnt much there but her actin did get better during her death scene.

broadway86- is it worth seeing in theaters or wait till DVD?
My friends saw it yesterday and seemed to like it. I heard Paris holds her own. I love the Simple Life which is just so crazy. Im a kind of Paris fan but heck, she is still a hotel heiress.
But I do give her kudos for trying to do something other than being famous for being famous.
When oh when will America get over it's Paris Hilton fixation? The States has gone ga-ga over some wack **** before but this is ridiculous! And no, watching a spoiled hotel heiress going around the country and making fools of people who work for a living is NOT entertainment.

Geeze, dude, its just entertainment, plus they prolly pay those people when all is said and done everyone wins... Paris n Nicole look like stars, the producers get the ratings and the companies get money for them coming there.
saw this movie in gainesville fl last night and the audence loved it cus, paris and her friends in the movie are univercity of florida students. and thats located in gainesville. every guy in the theare was probley wishing that paris really did go there.

i saw 'house of wax' today and paris hilton wasnt nearly as bad as i was expecting her to be. for some reason i love paris, i cant get enough of her...but i did doubt her acting ability. she really wasnt bad at all. and when she died, the whole audience started clapping (except for me )

Honestly, people may think Paris Hilton is the dumbest person in the world and want her to die. But seriously, she is a genius. She knows that people love to hate the dumb rich girls who have everything, so she eats that up like a bowl full of milk. She knows that everything she does, says, or films people will be wanting to see whether it be for good reasons, or for bad reasons.
I for one just like her because she proves that even big stars can have size 11 feet, like a 15 year old girl in Michigan.
I don't know if knowing that people love to hate her exactly makes her a genius.

:claps: LilMiZBroADwaY23 you are so brillant! She is genius... she knows what works and what doesnt... she knows that playing dumb is funny a la Jessica Simpson who I personally think should thank Paris for the whole DUMB is the new Smart thing.
Newlyweds premiered quite a few months before The Simple Life.

True. But did u realize how more stupid Jessica began acting around the time the SL premired?
Paris seems more empty than dumb to me, even in interviews. Her persona is going to get old eventually. I don't see her excelling at leading parts with any depth.

How about as a dumb sorciety girl in Pledge This?
I wouldn't be extremely surprised if that went straight to video.

Lol, I know did u see it?! It was so life like... I saw it on VH1.
ClumsyDude-
"House of Wax" is not only worth seeing in theatres, but is worth the $10. If you're a horror fan, you'll really appreciate what separates this one from all of the others (at least, recently). This one takes it's time, allows the characters to show even GLIMPES of personality, and displays some truly graphic and unsettling imagery. The director and makeup artists really took the R rating to the extreme.
I'm surprised that some are really hard on Paris's movie debut. She is a perfect actress for a horror movie, particularly one that throws back to the 70s and 80s. Cute, blonde, sexy, and perfect for killing.
Also, it is refreshing to see a movie that doesn't let the survivors off the hook so easily.

Well, I just saw it and I didn't notice any presence from Hilton besides the fact that she was there present on the screen. She wasn't so much bad as uninteresting. The only moment there was any life in her eyes was when she was stripping, which is probably because she was dancing to her own single when they filmed the scene. I'd be more kind to her if she was at least bad in a funny way.
Overall, it was pretty decent film if you like these kinds of movies. It starts off awkwardly, the first 40 minutes are basically unnecessary, but I don't blame them for trying to make a longer film than the usual horror fare. Please only do it if you have enough material though. The explanation of the killers background was probably too much, it's not really scary if you know too much about the villain, but still, it was fun once the horror got going. Wonderful production values and great sets. Chad Michael Murray was probably the best, he actually showed some charm at certain points. Elisha was cute, but she could've done more with the character. The backstory of the characters at the beginning of the movie was just laughable. Apparently the black guy likes rap and sex...and that's it. Also, I think I saw the microphone once when Elisha and Jared Padalecki are first in the house of wax.
