I've always had a love for the Garfield holiday specials.

And of course, Charlie Brown Christmas is a classic.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

WHITE CHRISTMAS

It is my all time favorite movie EVER. Danny Kaye is *so* charming and adorable in this movie. I've had a crush on him since I was three.

Geeze how could I forget WHITE CHRISTMAS?! I once had the privilege of being part of a choral group that sang some of those songs with Rosemary Clooney!

I love March of the Wooden Soldiers too! Actually, I just found a VHS copy of it at the yard sale my animal shelter has over the weekend. I just hope that it works and is in decent condition. But for 50 cents, what do I care?

I also love most of the specials mentioned. Charlie Brown, Rudolph, Garfield, etc... I also love the Grinch, but it has to be the animated special and not the movie. The movie was horrible, in my opinion. Muppet Family Christmas is also another favorite of mine.

Oh yeah, I also love the Polar Express. I was really excited that got turned into a movie because my kindergarten teacher read that book in school years and years ago. It is just really pretty. And I love a good production of the Nutcracker. Some are really bad, like the motion picture. That was too weird and scared the crap out of me. However, I love the production from 1977 with Baryshnikov and the American Ballet Theatre.

For Thanksgiving, Home For The Holidays is a must watch. Can't go wrong with Holly Hunter, Robert Downey, Anne Bancroft, Charles Durning, and Dylan McDermott. Also, it was directed by Jodie Foster. It's worth watching just for the scene in the car where Hunter is tuning out her rambling parents, and sees a kindred soul in the next car.

Have to agree with madbrian--our family watches Home for the Holidays every year the night before Thanksgiving.

And every Christmas Eve we watch Meet Me in St. Louis.

Love Holiday Affair and Holiday Inn.

I'm crazy for just about every version of "A Christmas Carol": the Sim, the Scott, the Muppets.

I have an amazing animated one produced by Chuck Jones of Bugs Bunny and the Grinch fame. Won an Oscar in 1970 or 71, then disappered. Narrated by Michael Redgrave, with Alistair Sim re-creating his Scrooge, it's only a half hour long, but it's pure genius.

My favorite crazy versions of A Christmas Carol: the 'diva' version with Vanessa Williams, and Ebby (starring Susan Lucci).

I wasnt commenting on your fave, Reg, it is actually my fave...watch it every year while I wrap gifts. Gorgeous score.

I wish the London cast recording was any good, but it's slow and the singing is awful...I dont have the soundtrack.

And my "even that one" wasn't meant to imply scorn. I quite, quite like it, though it's often looked down upon. I think age has improved its reputation.
