Sliding-scale, safe space for gender and sexual outlaws (and women and people of color), Homobiles is the alternative lift service in a city that used to be filled with alternatives.
Owner: “I used to think straight white dudes were the problem. My heart has swelled from the size of a chia seed to an organic frozen pea. Some of my riders are the raddest straight guys. It’s not just LGBTIQQLMNOP riders.”
Like The Gnome Mobile but queerer
It took me a while to understand those words but ok.

Sounds like something worth clutching our pearls over.
Namo, did you not get this thread approved before posting?
Seriously, what a great thing this is. And I love the slogan.
Is it pronounced ho-mobiles, or homo-biles?

I bet you're allowed to pronounce it anyway you want. Like a sliding pronunciation scale.
I think it's an interesting story and I'm glad others enjoyed reading it.
Reg, I remember the good old days when trolls auditioning for the role of arch-nemesis poked in a way that made contextual sense in the thread. I mean, "pearl clutching"?

Homobiles sounds fantastic and inspiring.
Can anybody here (JungleRed--are you there?) give us some first-hand perspective on these folks?

It seems like it's the Craigslist of getting around.
"It seems like it's the Craigslist of getting around."
I guess that depends upon your experience/understanding/perception of Craigslist.
Craigslist--in my world-view--is grifters, con artists and scammers, low-rent hookers, and pedophiles trolling for prey.
Homobile, by contrast, strikes me as a noble, civic-minded and inspiring attempt to solve a problem through community action.
Beyond the fact that both depend upon the participation of carbon-based forms of life, I see little similarity.

Oh, Nicky, I love you because you know such lovely people!

I love you, Reg!

Ha! I just meant the business model. They were offered so much money to sell CL but they turned it down, preferring to make just enough to live on.
Back atcha, Addison.
Namo, it's really a wonderful thing. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. One more thing to love about San Francisco.
