Meanwhile there are still high gas prices, a war in Iraq, and terrorism. Not that horse slaughtering isn't as important as steroids in baseball or apologizing for slavery, but the House needs to understand that there are some real issues out there that need solving.

The Illinois ban on horse meat production has been intensely fought on both sides. Horse lovers are passionate people, whether they love them as companions or entrees.
