Now it seems the kids with birthdays in the summer celebrate them before school gets out for the year. No one ever thought of that when I was in school.

Posted: 4/7/05 at 11:54amWe were poor hicks in Kansas and I had one party when I was seven. My wife now makes every birthday a major and expensive production! Give them some cake after dinner and be finished with it. (Scrooge! - yes I know.) 8/8 is our anniversary and my father's birthday.

8/8 is a wonderful date!!
I think some people do go majorly overboard with the birthday celebrations. When graduations and other important events happen, those celebrations have to top the birthday parties!
