Are you too nice about it and not do anything or are you too evil about it and physically try to hurt them.
I think I'm more on the "too nice" side because usually when I'm forced to tell someone off (Which I truly hate doing), I'm more sarcastic about it than anything and I'm not sure the full point is gotten across.
I speak in a slow, loud, clear voice so they can understand every word I am saying to them.

To this day I not actually "told someone off" in the traditional sense. I always picture that as someone going totally trailer park on another person. I dont think it counts otherwise.
How Do You Tell People Off?
You walk away.
No personal attacks on posters, and this is not an attack...
"why don't you ask """""Diva"""" as she seems to have the most experience at trying to tell people off"""""
Well that didn't last very long, now did it?
Diva doesn't TRY, I'd say DIVA succeeds...
What didn't last long?
I was paying Diva a compliment in having the ability to tell people off.
You guys won't give me a chance to say anything without immediately jumping my case.
I said, no personal attack, just a statement.
Even though Diva tried to show me the door last night, I will NEVER give up on this board.
Can you name this musical?
DIVA:
It's hard to be a Diva, baby - It's hard to be
divine...hard...hard
It's hard to be the Diva, it's hard to be Divine
To live the life of fever with your guts on the line!
It's hard to be the Diva, the stories I could tell
My life may seem like heaven, babe, but boy is it hell!

I'm sure the board appreciates that to no end. Now, what do you and the guys who share your account get out of coming here? Honestly.
Friendship, warmth, honesty, debate, etc.
I thought we were on a new path...
"Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I love Ya, Tomorrow..."
And All That Jazz
This is my favorite verse...
Just keepin' your veneer up can be a full time job
To build a great career up when you were once a slob!
Well, people can be vicious, with minds so crude and small
But I won't break the dishes - I'm a big hearted gal!
(But it's hard...etc.)

Everyone knows what it's from; everybody knows Sharon McKnight. And if I need to use you Signing Statement Boilerplate to assure you that this is in no way an attack, I will. But it's pretty gay that you know what it is.
HD, it's "Starmites," sung by the diva Sharon McKnight.

See?
Obviously I didn't speak SLOW enough for some people.

Ten seconds of silence. Stare them in the face and don't say one word for 10 seconds. They always get the message.

I just look them square in the eye and say, "Shut up, Patti LuPone!"
They get the message.

I'm usually the too nice guy to say anything to someone who's annoying me or being rude, but I should say that a majority of the time I'm usually just quiet and don't say anything, if you tick me off enough, I will tell you off and a great example if from a couple of weeks ago. It was the Saturday that the last Harry Potter book came out(the 21st) and I woke up to go to the bathroom at like 4am and I heard voices and I thought my sister was still up and was watching TV, but that wasn't it and I look out my window and there was a group of people in the house behind my neighbor's house talking and laughing loudly and stuff and I just ignored them and I thought that maybe they were just up because of the book. That wasn't the case because the next night I get up at 1am to go to the bathroom and there they were again, on their porch laughing and talking and smoking without a care in the world, not caring that it was 1am. So I went to the bathroom, got back to my room saw they were still out and chatting and I lost it, opened my window and screamed "Excuse me. It is 1 o'clock in the morning. People are trying to sleep. Shut the F*** up. Anymore noise and I'm calling the cops." To which one said "Sorry" and there hasn't been any problems since.
LOL Dolly,,"Shut your brassy magnificent mouth!" Too funny!
geaj- Haha, that totally reminds me of an episode from the first season of "Project Runway." They were designing bathing suits, but Wendy's model wore her own thong. When she told the judges, Heidi Klum just kind of stared at her for a bit. . . and then said, "Okay, thank you." Ouchhh. Haha.
My only thing about telling people off is to do not do it in front of other people. That's very rude.
ha ha actor, it works and you don't have to make a scene to get your point across!
