Are you rude? Maybe you should think again.
(OPRAH.com) -- Fed up with the rude behavior you experience day in and day out? Is it aggressive driving, co-workers who don't wash their hands or smokers who use the sidewalk as their personal ashtrays?
Oprah says she can't stand people who are rude to service workers.
What about the sales clerks who ignore you -- then act like they own the store when you finally get their attention?
It's time for a return to civility! In "O, The Oprah Magazine," Oprah asked Jerry Seinfeld about his biggest pet peeve. Turns out, it's a lack of civility.
Are You Rude?

You're asking the people on this board if they're rude?

I've noticed that in real life, the people I know who complain the most about rudeness are the rudest.
A lot of people are rude to those they feel 'don't matter,' but they can't stand being treated what they call rudely because they feel like they're important and need special treatment.
Well, the article does say:
"Eighty percent of Americans think rudeness is a serious national problem, but 99 percent of the same people say that they themselves are not rude."
you're all a bunch of fools.

I'm rudest when someone isnt civil to me...of course it's MY standard I'm using, so I'm not very popular...
...and I'm okay with that.
Oh just F off everyone! .... and while your at it, BITE ME!
I'm from the South, which means I can say anything I want about anybody as long as I end the sentence with, "Bless his heart."
I speak my mind. To some people, that's rude. Too bad. Have a nice day.
I try to be polite to everyone, even on this board. In fact, I thought Nancy Reagan's anti-drug slogan of 'Just Say No' should have been called 'Just Say No, Thank You'.

I'm not f*cking rude!! I'm just generally hostile to almost everyone until I know them better. However if I don't care to know them...then it's pretty much a sh*t storm-a brewin'.
Other than that I'm actually a nice person...sort of?
Oh you're all wonderful. Shut up already.
I'm rude to people on the internet. Not all the time, I try to be very polite to most people on the internet, but if you strike me as a moron or particularly offensive, my manners go flying straight out of the window.
I do my best to be very polite to people who are serving me (in shops, restaurants, etc :P). I've been on the receiving end and I know what a shockingly huge improvement you can make to someone's day by simply saying "hello", "please", and "thank you". The problem is, I'm phenomenally shy around strangers, so I imagine that might occasionally come across as aloof snootiness.
I'm ridiculously rude to my friends. Being emotionally retarded, I find it difficult to open up to people, so most of my interactions with people I like are the 25-year-old equivalent of pulling a girl's pigtails in the playground. Plus we all have similar senses of humour, and find offensive things terribly funny. So it's not a problem that I'm rude to them, but I am rude to them.
Anyhoo...
It's easier to be rude when the other person isn't able to punch you in the jaw.
I'm pretty nice, even on the internet. The only time I'm not is if somebody's being an ass.
In public it's the same thing. If somebody's being rude to me, I have a tendency to get rude back at him or her. Not the in-your-face-yelling type of rude, but I can be pretty when I want to.
I think I'm actually at least slightly more polite online. In a lot more... blunt... in real life, because with facial expressions and tone of voice and all that, it's easier to convey when I'm being sarcastic. Online, it just comes off as nastiness. So I try to limit that.
But I never said it was easy....
I personally think I'm a little less spazztastic online. And whiny. And dramatic. And theatrey.
Just TRY and imagine my real personality.
